The MCFFU Organizational Structure

STATE DIRECTOR:

Each State will have a State Director who will work to increase his/her state’s total team participation by building relationships, submitting accurate tournament information and recruiting leagues and teams to participate in MCFFU/USSSA leagues and events.

Directors will also be responsible for attracting local and regional sponsorships, assisting neighboring State Directors of the MCFFU/USSSA (in flag football as well as with other sports) and supporting National events hosted in their region.

It will be his/her responsibility to rule on the proper conduct, procedures, and other matters relating to the orderly conduct of all State tournaments.  While given this authority, all decisions will be reported directly to the MCFFU Board.

The Tournament Director shall provide a written statement of current issues and/or status for inclusion in MCFFU Flag Nation e-Newsletter and USSSA publications.

AREA DIRECTORS:

Area Directors will be eligiblet to host tournaments in multiple states.  Any state occupied by a State Director, must be approved by that S.D.  All other events, must be approved by the MCFFU/USSSA if hosted in non-appointed areas.

REGIONAL DIRECTORS OR COMMISSIONERS:

Regional Directors/Commissioners will oversee select regions and State Directors within their jurisdiction.  They will report directly to the MCFFU Board.  These positions will only come available once regions have reached a certain status of team participation by their states.  This will be determined by the National Committee.

COMPETION COMMITTEE:

The Competition Committee will be comprised of individuals within the flag football community competing in various styles offered by the MCFFU.  Their primary goal will be to monitor various divisions and ensure equal competition.

Rules may also be viewed, altered, voted on and implemented to help maintain a fair level of competition.

NATIONAL COMMITTEE:

The National Committee will comprise of non-playing individuals who attend national board meetings and provide input and direction to the MCFFU. They will focus on the growth and development and approve changes and national partnerships.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS:

Independent organizations and individuals may be Tournament Directors with the MCFFU/USSSA. All tournaments hosted by T.D. must be approved by the State Director and/or the MCFFU office.  T.D.'s can sanction their existing events and/or host a new MCFFU/USSSA sanctioned event (NIT or State Qualifier).

MCFFU Style Classification

Pro (A) – The Competitive Circuit is the pinnacle of any style that the MCFFU hosts.  This is the only style that offers cash prizes for the winners along with other prizes and awards.  This is the most competitive level of flag offered and consists of teams that regularly compete in top-level tournaments nationally.

Competitive (B) – The Open Circuit is the equivalent to most B Divisions.  This style offers prizes and awards; no cash and consists of teams that are highly competitive but play nationally a little less than the Pro.  The stakes are not as high for the Open, but the competition is top-notch.

REC (C) – The Recreation Circuit is for teams that play mainly on the local scene.  Teams that are either just getting started or play occasionally are classified here.  Teams will win prizes and awards.  This style is seldom offered at major tournaments.

Parks and Recreation - The Parks and REC division is just that; ONLY open to teams that qualified or competed in Park and Recreation leagues and events.  No teams from independent leagues and/or tournaments will be eligible for this division.

Note: Champions of Competitive or REC will automatically be moved up upon winning either a MCFFU Nationals, WNC, ENC or WCC.
